Learn the basics to help you build a beautiful arrangement every time!

Adding a few flowers to any room can make it feel more welcoming. While creating simple, beautiful arrangements with any type of flowers may seem intimidating at first, these tips will make it easy.  It is also a quick, easy, and low-cost way to freshen up your home's décor!

Tip: Flowers should be trimmed to at least 1 inch from the end. Keep the vase fresh by removing leaves that will lie below the water level.

Ideally, full flowers should be cut so that they sit about 1-2 inches above the top of the vase. Occasionally, thin flowers, like roses, can be several inches taller.

In order to create a focal point for your arrangement, place the largest, most dominant flowers in the vase first. To create balance, surround large flowers with smaller ones.

You should add greenery last to fill in any gaps and highlight dominant colors.

Work your way outward from the dominant bloom by adding smaller flowers.

Colors should be evenly distributed throughout the arrangement.

Finally, remove the pollen stamens from their bases to prolong the life of your flowers and avoid pollen stains on petals.
